Other times your blog entry may be more open-ended. There are a number of ways to approach these open-ended posts: consider our\u00a0readings and discussion in relation to your own experiences;\u00a0write about an aspect of the day\u2019s reading that you don\u2019t understand, or something that jars you; formulate an insightful question or two leftover from a previous class discussion\u00a0and then attempt to answer your own questions; or respond to another student\u2019s post, building upon it, disagreeing with it, or re-thinking it. In any case, strive for thoughtfulness and nuance in your posts.<\/p>\n<h5>Details<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Send me the URL of your blog for this class!<\/li>\n<li>Title your posts with snappy, descriptive titles<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate images and video when appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Aim for 250-400 words for your posts<\/li>\n<li>Unless otherwise noted, weekly blog posts are due by class time on Fridays<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Weekly blogging will be evaluated according to this rubric:<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 \u2013 Exceptional<\/strong>. The post is focused and coherently integrates evidence with explanations, analysis, or creative work. The post demonstrates awareness of its own limitations or implications, and it considers multiple perspectives when appropriate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 \u2013 Good. <\/strong>The post is reasonably focused, and explanations or analysis are mostly based on examples or other evidence. Fewer connections are made between ideas, and though new insights are offered, they are not fully developed. The post reflects moderate engagement with the topic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 \u2013 Insufficient. <\/strong>The post is mostly description or summary, without consideration of alternative perspectives, and few connections are made between ideas.
