As a group, analyze the scene in terms of narrative themes and motifs, but also pay attention to the scene\u2019s formal properties: camera angles, lighting, color palette, diegetic and nondiegetic sound, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>Then, draw connections between your scene and these three readings: Pinedo&#8217;s &#8220;Postmodern Horror&#8221;, Cohen\u2019s \u201cMonster Culture (Seven Theses),\u201d and Bishop\u2019s introduction to <em>American Zombie Gothic<\/em>. How does <em>Dead Set <\/em>bolster Pinedo&#8217;s, Cohen\u2019s, or Bishop\u2019s arguments? How does <em>Dead Set<\/em> challenge their arguments?
